Description

Art with fabric and thread: This is what the "needle witches" will be presenting from Sunday, September 6, 2020 in Café Kohleschuppen in Stöffel Park. The exhibition will open at 4 pm. All interested parties are invited to attend. Their theme is "Nature and Technology".
The Limburg needle witches have been inspired by the sights of the Stöffel Park. It was up to each artist to decide whether to focus on nature, technology or the meeting of the two.
The needle witches introduce themselves
your skill
"Our exhibits belong to the field of textile art. We work with the techniques of patchwork and quilting - two very old techniques of textile processing.
Patchwork is the joining together of different, sometimes very small pieces of fabric to create something new. And quilting is the joining of three layers of fabric with the help of quilting stitches.
With the help of these two techniques, textile materials can not only be combined to form articles of daily use such as blankets or clothing, but can also be made into works of art.
In addition, some works go beyond this traditional way of working and combine paper with textile materials, for example".
The women of the group
The Needle Witches are 13 women of all ages and they have been meeting regularly in Limburg for many years to exchange information about their hobby and to give each other suggestions.
Courses with well-known quilt artists, visits to international exhibitions and times when they sew together motivate them to develop their artistic skills.
